Spring Soccer for Em

This past year, Emily decided to give soccer another try.  She liked that it was low-key, low-pressure, and she was able to just have a fun and get to know the girls on her team (which is what she really enjoys anyway).  And, what the team lacked in skills (for some it was their first time playing), they made up for in team spirit!

I'm proud of Emily, her willingness to try new (or fairly new) things, and surprisingly, her positive attitude!  (Even after their losses, Emily would come away from the games with a smile on her face talking about how the goals they had scored [or almost scored] and how much fun she'd had.)  Plus, she played well and ended up enjoying the season!  Yay Em!

Zoo Day

Another beautiful March day and off to the zoo we went with Christian's best buds, Henry and Ben!  The orangutans were out in full force (and sound).  Britta thought they were fascinating...Kari, not so much.  It was a fun morning and I was pretty proud of myself for taking all five kiddos to the zoo without any major meltdowns.

Love these monkeys!
Happy baby!
This picture was from later that afternoon.
Britta loves her swing and I just love how cute she looks in her little hat and red polka dot pants!

Pre-Easter Sunday

This year, Easter Sunday fell on the same weekend as General Conference.  So, we got all dolled-up in our Easter clothes the weekend before.  Britta was asleep during our group shots...but scroll down to see her adorable pictures once she woke up.  And, of course, everyone but Kari was happy at the photo-op.  (Honestly, at least one person always seems to be unhappy and I can't even remember what she was sad about this time.)  Still, despite her sad face, everyone still looks great.
And...here's Miss Britta post-nap (there are quite a few pictures, but she's just so darling!!):

Britta is the happiest little baby.  I'm pretty sure her cheeks hurt by the end of the day from smiling.  Love, love, love her!!!!
Kari perked up at church so I snapped a "happy" picture of her!
Here's Juliana and her bestie, Eden.  I actually grew up with her mom and so it's so cute to see our daughters play together!!

Easter Egg Hunt

I love our town.  The annual Easter Egg hunt at our local park attracts quite a crowd and there are literally thousands of eggs for the kids to grab.  They stagger the ages so that everyone has a chance to get eggs.  Ju Ju's age group was up first and Emily did a great job of helping her figure out what she was supposed to be doing.  (That's what big sisters are for, right?)

She loved it.
And what egg hunt would be complete without Anna and Elsa?
We also saw many friends!  (The weather was a tad chilly and Kari, having zero body fat, was pretty chilly.)

March Madness

March Madness was in full effect at our house this year!  First up, the NCAA tournament!

Everyone fills out their own bracket and then we keep track of all of the winners on our big chalkboard wall.  The winner gets to pick where we go to dessert as a family :-).
Next up, basketball for Em!  This was her first year playing and she REALLY ended up liking it!  Their team got off to a rough start, but, by the end of the season, they'd pulled it together and ended up playing in the consolation bracket of their tournament!  Emily has good instincts and is a pretty good shot too!

She was sad when it ended, but is looking forward to playing again this year!
