Happy 3rd Birthday, Juliana!

 Our spunky little Juliana turned THREE back on May Day!  She was pretty excited to celebrate her big day (and who wouldn't be, right?).  She was ready to party at breakfast time!

By lunchtime, the novelty had worn off a bit as she realized that it STILL wasn't party time!

 But then party time was upon us!  This past year, Juliana discovered Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood (a PBS spin off of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood).  She LOVED it and so it became the theme of her party!

 I didn't go too over-the-top (it's a 3 yr old's party, after all), but I still did a few things.  Lucky for me, Juliana had a couple of toys that went perfectly with the theme!

 I printed a few things off of the internet--easy peasy.

 And stuck with bright, primary colors for the rest of the decor.

 For one of our games, we played "pin the watch on Daniel Tiger."  I did a rough drawing of Daniel and Emily helped me color it all in.  She even ran the game!

 Juliana was happy to play and then watch her friends do the same.

 One of her gifts was a new picnic table!

 We also had a dance party (not super Daniel Tiger-y, but Juliana loves to dance and so did everyone else!)

 We also decorated crowns with stickers.  Kids love crafts :-).

Field Trip with Grandpa

Kari's preschool class went on a field trip to the Rose Theater.  They saw the play, "Charlotte's Web."  Grandpa got to go with Kari and they had lots of fun!

 After the show, Kari got a special McD's treat and then everyone got to play in Grandpa's truck after school got out.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Celebrating Daddy's birthday, in our loud and crazy, kid-filled way!

Busy {and Sleepy} Ju Ju

Our little Juliana is an Energizer Bunny.  She just keeps going and going and going.  And going.  Until she crashes.  Juliana gave up her naps earlier this Spring.  (The earliest any of my children have ever stopped napping, but she was staying up waaayyy too late so the nap had to go.)  However, there are still days that she needs a rest!

Some days she crashes on the couch.

And some days it's in her bed.

One afternoon, Juliana was working on her cutting skills.  She was VERY determined.

She also was busy coloring and taping her masterpiece.

With the occasional snack break.

 And then, while I was nursing Britta, Juliana camped out in the hallway outside of her room and, before I knew it, she'd fallen asleep!  It was so cute!!

 Being three is HARD WORK.  Just as Ju Ju.

Seven Months!

 Oooohhhh, little Britta!  Her cheeks!  Her smile!  Her overall sweetness!

At seven months, Britta is an accomplished sitter, eater of baby foods and little snack foods, and lover of her stuffed animal friends in her bed.  She plays peek-a-boo, does "so big," and loves to sit on a play blanket and, well, play.

Harlem Globetrotters Night

Back in April, Grandpa took Cubby, Emily, Christian, and Kyle out to see the Harlem Globetrotters!  They had a fantastic time and the kids LOVED watching the game and giggled and giggled over getting to heckle the Washington Generals.  They were amazed at the ball-handling skills and said it was such a fun night!

Meanwhile, at home with the littles...

Britta went to bed and I put in a movie for Juliana and Kari to watch.  Not even 10 minutes into the movie, little Miss J falls asleep.  So, it turned out to be a pretty fantastic evening for Kari and me as well.
