Morning at the Trail Center

We have been learning a lot about our pioneer ancestors this summer.  We just came home from a trip to Nauvoo (more on that in another post).  And, before we left, I headed to the Mormon Trail Center with the kids one morning.  The kids got to dress up and learn a little bit more about how the pioneers came across the plains.  (They also got a minute taste of how difficult their journey was.  Pulling a handcart was pretty tough!)

After the trail center fun, we headed across the street to the Winter Quarters Temple.  The children really liked this and loved hearing about how Mommy and Daddy got married in this temple :-).  Emily, who isn't the most "touch-feely" with her spiritual side, said that she felt really good walking around the temple and that she was happy that we came.

They all loved "touching the temple."
