After the show, Cubby and I stayed downtown and spent the night at the Hilton! He used some of his Hilton points and my mom and Harvey stayed at the house and held down the fort for us! It was such a treat and felt sooo good the next morning to be able to lay in bed just a little longer and not have to get up and make anyone breakfast. It's life's simple pleasures :-).

A Wicked Night!
A couple of weeks ago we saw "Wicked" for our anniversary! I had wanted to go for years and every time it came to town I have had a nursing baby and haven't been able to get away. Until now! Cubby was a good sport and agreed to go (even though he really doesn't like musicals and his knee was bothering him through the whole show.) But, I was grateful to have been able to go! It was so wonderful and, going in not knowing the story line or songs, it was cool to experience it all fresh!
We went with our friends, Cara and Barry, who were kind enough to invite us along to a delicious dinner at my favorite downtown restaurant, Nicola's. Yummmm.....

Daddy-Daughter Date
The two skated around and then got some "very" hot chocolate. They then walked around a bit downtown and saw all of the lights displays that are up down there. Very beautiful!
After that, Cubby took Emily to Village Inn where she tried (and loved) mozzarella sticks, with more hot cocoa (but this time is wasn't too hot, Emily said).
I loved that they got to go out and spend a little one-on-one time together. It has strengthened their relationship and I know both are planning a bike-riding night (indoors) for next time!

Mommy and Me
We also filled up our mini toy wagons with the "essential provisions," checked out a cool model of a ship that some of the pioneers came over from England on, went downstairs and checked out the quilt displays, and went out on a beautiful evening for a walk around the temple grounds.
I love my little date nights with Emily; it gives us some wonderful one-on-one time (and now that she's in school most of the day, it allows me to give her some undivided attention and she can tell me about what goes on during the day). She's becoming such a big girl so fast; I'm grateful for these moments to strengthen our bond and let her know how much I love her!
