Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! It was a nice day and we really have so much to be grateful for. Here are the highlights from our wonderful evening!

Kari had a great first Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed her feast of carrots, applesauce, Kix, and even some turkey and stuffing! We were all eating our delicious dinner (at Mom's) and all-of-a-sudden, we pause, and realize that the grown ups were actually able to converse with one another without an interuption every 30 seconds. It was sooooo quiet. We look over in the family room and see Emily and Christian playing quietly with Tinkertoys. It was as if the clouds parted and Heaven's light was shining down (complete w/angels singing). Incredible doesn't begin to describe this phenomenon. A pleasant dinner with the Lindseths! A true Thanksgiving miracle!

After dinner, Emily and Christian put Auntie Erin and Uncle Kyle to work decorating graham-cracker gingerbread houses. (A Thanksgiving tradition in our family; this was the first year Emily and Christian have done it.) Emily was an old pro at delegating and told Erin that she was in-charge of frosting while she decorated. Christian adapted a more free-form method and made sure he and Kyle's sugar levels didn't drop: "One for you, one for me, and one for the house" was his motto.

So busy! Harvey also got in on the playtime action and he and the kids enjoyed a good game of Silly Faces. Here's the whole crew!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Kari's 5 Bs

We are thinking that B must be Kari's favorite letter. Here's why:

Three of Kari's favorite Bs are as follows: 1) Bunny 2) Blankie 3)Brother.
Not pictured, but definitely the 4th "B" is: 4)Binkie. And, finally, her 5th "B" is for SOOOOO BIG!!!! Yes, Kari is on the cusp of taking her first steps and she loves to show us how BIG she can be!
Ta-Da!!!

We Know Their True Identities....

We love it when costumes at Target go on clearance after Halloween! (Please ignore the awful-looking weeds growing in between the fences...they've since been removed.)

Waffles, Waffles and more Waffles

For the past few weeks, Christian has been OBSESSED with eating waffles. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners. He LOVES them. It's pretty funny. Cubby makes huge batches of them so that Christian will have enough for the week. We have also discovered that Christian likes Eggo waffles too! Hurray! Now, before you start into me for Christian not getting any other nutrients into his body, he does eat other food. Like applesauce. Green or blue applesauce. Christian's other new favorite. Food coloring makes everything a bit more fun and that includes applesauce!

I just love my funny little guy...but I am starting to think that the syrup from the waffles is starting to seep through Christian's pores!

Pumpkins and Trunk-or-Treat, #2..the festivities continue!

Friday night we had a special FHE (Family Home Evening) and carved our pumpkins! Emily and Christian each had very specific ideas about what kind of pumpkin they wanted. Here's how they turned out! Christian made a "mean face" when he was describing what kind of face he wanted carved. Pretty close, eh?

This is Emily's "pretty girl pumpkin". Complete with eye lashes, a blue bow and "hair"!
Here are the final results! (Cubby carved the last one and took in everyone's ideas to make a "silly, scary, happy face.")
Saturday night was our church's trunk-or-treat party! It was really great. The children had fun dressing up and seeing all of their friends in their costumes as well. Christian's big moment came when he won second prize in the costume contest! Go little robot, Christian!

These two little cows have a cute story too. Both Kari and Makenna's costumes were worn previously by their older siblings, Christian and Maren! Check them out below...when the "big kids" weren't so big! (We're still looking good, Jenn, eh??)
